The subcontinent of India is composed of many regions and cultures, and is the home of the second largest population in the world (after China). Vanilla beans have been grown in India for quite some time, and we are finally seeing good quality beans being exported at a price we find attractive.
The India beans we are importing are from a horticulturist, who has 250 hectares under cultivation (of vanilla and other spices) in the western region of India, near the forests of the western Ghat section of Karnataka, India. The beans he sent us are long, plump, moist and beautiful! Give them a try for something different - we think you will like them!!
